"Against All Odds"
03/15/2009

Mood: Blah

Today was a rough day. It started out nice and slow at work, but then the day started to drag on. I wonder if it was because I had quite a few things on my mind.

I’m looking forward to getting my New Mexico state tax return. I did the math and I would be able to pay off American Eagle, Capital One, Best Buy, speeding ticket and traffic light ticket. That would basically blow my entire tax return, but it’ll definitely take a huge load off of my plate when I pay off those credit cards. I considered putting the money into savings so I could use it for my move, but since I don’t know when that is exactly it’s best that I take care of bills first.

I’m also concerned about my vacation time. I’m taking off April 24-25 when McCraw comes to visit. Then I’m also taking off July 10-14 to visit Sacramento for my birthday (if I haven’t already moved back by then). I’m somewhat nervous about accruing enough vacation time for those approved days off. I asked my assistant supervisor to help me project if I’d have enough time, but she had no clue how to figure it out, so I’m most likely better off asking HR. In fact, I’m going to put it into my calendar now to visit HR tomorrow.

Of course, I’m still stressing about what to do next about my career move. I think I’m going to give it until the end of April and apply for the Traveling Trainer Position again. If I don’t get it, then I’ll resort to Store Sales Representative. I just really hope things work out. Some days I can be so sure and confident, some days I just feel like the odds are against me.

But at the end of the day, whether it’s paying off debt, escaping back home for my birthday or desperately trying to make a change in career, I will prevail against all odds.
